A Snapshot of Your Day
The world of buyers today is characterized by interdisciplinary collaboration with various teams, like commercial and technical functions. As a Buyer with Siemens Energy, you are actively involved in supporting the quotations, purchasing and tracking of the machines, and equipment needed for the Charlotte transformer plant. They will exhibit their strengths in problem, conflict solving, negotiation skill, critical thinking and commitment by mastering project related procurement challenges with a team while keeping focused on procurement rules and regulations.
What You Bring
- 2+ years of experience within supply chain or procurement, plus 5 years of professional working exp preferably in buying machining, equipment and services.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with a focus on Excel and SAP proficiency.
- Experience with Tableau and Power BI preferred
- Profound experience managing vendors; extreme customer-focus, both internal & external, and a collaborative team player
- Has knowledge of sending RFQ,RFI to potential suppliers for quotation keeping in view the updated approved supplier list Introducing new supplier where necessary.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Implement and ensure adherence to global methods, processes, and systems for high efficiency and compliance in procurement, including Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) processes and IT systems.
- Manage the placement of both direct and indirect purchase orders effectively.
- Execute a range of procurement activities, including purchase order maintenance, expedited activities, and resolution of discrepancies and overdue follow-ups.
- Conduct supplier prequalification, strategic and risk evaluations, and supplier development using the SAP Ariba tool.
- Facilitate communication between suppliers and project teams for technical clarifications and support contract preparation and negotiation reports.
- Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
