As Materials Engineer Ceramics (f/m/d) at the Innovation Center Berlin, you will actively participate in the development of new technologies in the field of ceramic materials and components. You are part of a project team and take responsibility for the technical implementation and delivery of project goals. To achieve this, you contribute as part of a team to develop the technology, ensuring alignment with project requirements and close collaboration with internal and external partners. Additionally, when public grants are part of the funding, you contribute to the application and implementation processes. The posted job opening is located around material technology and manufacturing methods with focus on innovative application of ceramics and coating development.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Initiating new technology projects with internal and external resources
- Exploring new manufacturing methods – from powder to final components
- Development of materials and components through analytical and lab test work
- Coordinating various ideas and interests to achieve a common goal
- A university degree in materials engineering, with a PhD preferred, showcasing your advanced expertise.
- Several years of professional experience in materials and components development or relevant academic research.
- Proven experience in Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC) technology and its applications.
- Strong background in structural ceramics and coatings, demonstrating your technical proficiency.
- Project management experience, with a track record of leading R&D projects effectively.
- Fluency in English, complemented by a collaborative spirit for thriving in international teams, along with a passion for emerging technologies and a commitment to sharing knowledge and inspiring others. Additionally, knowledge of German would be greatly appreciated.
