A Snapshot of Your Day
You will be responsible for managing the design and implementation of systems that support internal operations, optimizing manufacturing processes, and leading projects to increase production capacity. You will be on the shop floor closely working with the operators/MEs to identify process bottlenecks, improve processes, and develop tools that drive efficiency across the value stream. You will lead and coordinate all product cost reduction efforts within Charlotte’s combustion manufacturing organization.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Analyze production bottlenecks and develop solutions to enhance throughput and operational efficiency.
- Own and standardize product-specific cost model structures to ensure financial reporting accuracy.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements, reduce waste, improve quality, and achieve cost savings targets.
- Develop and deploy innovative tools to support and optimize manufacturing operations.
- Research and evaluate emerging technologies applicable to the manufacturing and repair of gas turbine combustion hardware.
- Deliver technical training and provide ongoing support for new technologies and applications.
What You Bring
- BS in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering or related field.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work optimally with all levels of the organization.
- Experience in Lean and/or Six Sigma philosophies and their application in process capability and improvement.
- Ability to interpret complex drawings and specifications, including a solid understanding of GD&T.
- Knowledge of or experience with fixture design, basic statistics, sheet metal forming, fabrication, and welding techniques for Ni based material.
- Solid understanding of root cause analysis and corrective/preventative action methods.
- Candidates with more experience can be considered for a higher level.

About the Team
Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
Combustion component manufacturing is responsible for the manufacture of transition ducts and combustor baskets primarily, that deliver the superheated and rapidly expanding gases into the 1st stage of the turbine. The gases are then redirected into a series of rotating and stationary parts that turn the rotor which is then connected to a generator.
We work closely with combustion design engineering on the development of cutting-edge technology which is evident in the newly released 9000 HL gas turbine with both 50 Hz and 60 Hz variants.
