A Snapshot Of Your Day

Working with the Head of Core Reclaim and the Cell Manager, and alongside Senior Manufacturing Engineers, you will be responsible for the accurate assessment of components removed from overhauled Small Gas Turbines. These components are processed as part of the Engine Reclaim Process. You will decide, using defined criteria and calibrated manual and electronic measuring tools, whether components are repairable. A key part of your role will involve programming and operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to capture precision measurements for critical components.

How You’ll Make An Impact

  • Programme and operate CMMs using PC-DMIS or Quindos software to inspect turbine components.
  • Conduct inspection activities, including in-process checks, final inspections, and raising non-conformance reports.
  • Carry out investigations into non-conformance issues using root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Liaise with departments such as Design, Assembly, Quality, Procurement and external suppliers to resolve technical issues.
  • Lead or support improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction, quality, or efficiency.
  • Promote and maintain a safe working environment, ensuring compliance with current health and safety legislation.
  • Drive continuous improvement using LEAN tools and support manufacturing projects from planning through to execution.

What You Bring

  • HNC in a relevant engineering subject area with at least 2 years’ manufacturing experience, or a graduate with equivalent training.
  • Experience or willingness to train in CMM programming and operation (PC-DMIS or Quindos preferred).
  • Comfortable working rotating early and late shifts.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work across teams and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Good IT skills, including SAP and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong health and safety awareness and a continuous improvement mentality.
  • Sound understanding of engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • LEAN awareness and a proactive, problem-solving attitude.
