A Snapshot of Your Day
The role requires working with international teams to instruct assembly contractors and customers, as well as leading smaller assembly teams. Key responsibilities include communication with the back office and engineering/project teams, creating and modifying assembly documents, and documenting assembly processes with contractors or customers. The position also emphasizes continuous self-development in technology, methods, and EHS.
The Supervisor has personnel and technical responsibility for the installation, maintenance, and repair of assigned units (gas turbines) within a designated work area. This includes ensuring employee safety and the quality and accurate completion of assigned activities. Responsibility spans from work permit acceptance to the handover of machinery, primarily at power plants but also potentially at workshops, test centers, or manufacturing areas. How You’ll Make an Impact
- The Gas Turbine (GT)-Technician Section Site Leader/Supervisor works independently but maintains constant coordination with project management.
- Responsibilities include distributing work tasks, leading (if authorized), instructing, and regularly checking the team's work.
- The role is authorized to issue instructions and is responsible for implementing and supervising compliance with basic occupational safety requirements.
- This position involves checking the quality of work within the assigned area of responsibility.
- Typical power plant activities include evaluating/preparing assembly efforts (time, personnel, tools, and parts), supporting assembly documentation and marketing, and preparing/revising risk assessments and method statements.
- Further responsibilities involve clarifying the project's scope of services, contract details, and schedule at the outset, and supporting project planning and technical clarifications.
- The role also includes checking the final scope of service, scheduling, orders for resources (personnel, tools, etc.), site preparations, project instructions, and various plans (EHS, quality, etc.), and familiarizing oneself with contractual conditions, sales specifics, scope, schedule, subcontractors, permits, and site processes.
- Additional tasks consist of checking subcontractor expenses, maintaining the first-aid book, advising employees, updating the customer and Siemens Energy, conducting safety briefings, using authority with the HSE-manager, creating incident reports, handling rental tool returns, preparing the final assembly report, independently assigning tasks, and adhering to legal regulations, especially concerning working time laws.
What You Bring
- Bachelor/University Degree of mechanical engineering.
- Skilled worker training in a technical profession or several years of practical professional experience is preferred and worked/involved in Gas Turbines installation works
- Minimum 3 year-experience in equipment installation work (rotating and non- rotating equipment) on preferably international Construction Sites
- An experienced Gas Turbine fitter and is able to carry out and guide all work on the Gas Turbine independently in order to fulfill these obligations.
- Ability to make and implement all vital and situation-related decisions, deploy and instruct employee independently.
- Committed and willing to take action; Strong networking skills in an engineering or project delivery organization
- Willingness to travel worldwide, changing operating conditions
- International teams/partnership skills
- High level of English language skills, especially in Speaking and Listening
- Car-driving license
- Knowledge of international Health and Safety Standards
- Knowledge of respective international codes/standards
