As the Grid Solution Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for the execution of all engineering related tasks of HV substation Project including Electrical, Civil, Structure, Architecture and Building Services from basic design to site engineering support and as built documentation, aiming for timely implementation at maximum quality and within or below available budgets. You will engage with external and internal partners on technical matters, handle engineering-related risks and opportunities, and ensure adherence to technical contract execution and documentation requirements.
How You’ll Make an Impact
· Manage, support, and consult with the engineering team, which includes members from various countries and centers of competency.
· Prepare engineering designs, project schedules, and review specifications, cost estimates, and production plans while coordinating with the project team regarding the equipment engineering during installation, testing, and commissioning phrase.
· Monitor engineering progress against project plans, resolve operational issues, and identify resources necessary for project completion, including establishing an engineering organization within the business unit.
· Develop engineering standards, designs, work specifications, project schedules, budgets, and select materials and contractors, including identifying subcontract packages for engineering services
· Lead the design and implementation of high-voltage substation equipment and provide guidance to the engineering team, ensuring compliance with engineering regulations and standards.
· Ensure timely communication and engagement with internal and external stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, addressing all interface requirements.
· Facilitate engineering risk assessments, guide personnel on risk management methodologies, and ensure that assessments are regularly reviewed and updated based on audits and customer requirements.
· Ensure accurate and timely engineering reporting, while proactively seeking improvements in engineering processes through simplification, digitalization, and innovation.
What You Bring
· A university degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Process Engineering, or related fields, along with proven experience in turnkey project engineering.
· At least 5 years of experience in technical engineering field management.
· Holding a professional engineer practice from IEM/BEM is advantageous, as is familiarity with Malaysia’s Engineering Code of Practice, including TNB and SEB standards.
· Preferably experienced in high voltage substations, power plants, or related equipment, with site and commissioning experience.
· Demonstrated ability in engineering fields related to power generation, transmission, distribution, and the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) market.
· Strong capability to adapt strategies and actions to meet the needs of a dynamic environment, emphasizing customer satisfaction.
· Ability to lead an international and globally dispersed engineering team with expertise in various engineering fields.
· Commitment to achieving the highest performance results through effective team leadership and collaboration.
