A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Development Engineer for Power Transformers you are a major part of power transformers development group within PRM. Inside a global development team, you are responsible to define and support technical rules and solutions. You will be responsible not only for the technical content but also for business objectives such as budget, quality, performance, and schedule requirements. You make sure that we define and implement on the most uniform and standardized components, so that we can provide new balanced engineering solutions in a timely manner while keeping the costs to a minimum. In addition to your role, you will be involved in different R&D projects within the PRM organization and supporting the power transformer factories all over the world.


How You will make an impact

  • Lead subprojects in the development environment
  • Support the standardization and modularization program
  • Support non-standard functional requirements from end-customers
  • Subproject controlling including planning and reporting
  • Analyzing, rating and estimating user requirements and design solutions in collaboration with the partners and the project team
  • You actively collaborate with teams from different departments and sites in an international environment
  • Coordination of external partners and suppliers
  • You help to improve the development methods and processes in a highly skilled development team
  • Drive key innovation projects and look for new fields of
  • Support topics related to technology and innovation
  • Material qualification
  • Technical supplier development including audits
  • Technical claim management

What You Bring

  • Education (HTL/FH/TU) in the field of mechanical engineering or in a comparable area
  • Mid- or Long-term experience (3-5 years) in design mechanical components within CAD environment
  • Deep knowledge in the mechanical construction
  • Expertise in material properties and mechanical stiffness
  • Ability to form sophisticated rules
  • Profound knowledge in CREO 3D, PDMLink (Windchill) and CADIM (Agile)
  • Knowledge of transformer portfolio, mechanical design processes and rules as well as related manufacturing technologies
  • Ability to work independently, and the ability to collaborate optimally with team members as well as with various internal and external team members
  • Experience within international project teams
  • Good communication skills
  • Proficient English
  • Experience in different R&D projects
  • Willingness to travel
