The world of logistics today is characterized by interdisciplinary collaboration across transportation, procurement, planning, production, technology, warehousing, and distribution teams. As a Transportation Coordinator with Siemens Energy, you are actively involved in supporting innovation in material flow, carrier relationships, customer support, on-time delivery and technology/portal platforms needed for the Charlotte Power Transformer plant. She/he will exhibit their strengths in planning applications, problem solving, conflict management, risk management, critical thinking and a heavy commitment to a diverse team with common goals.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Drive success through adherence to industry standards, robust process organization, and introduction of lean, standardized principles for the logistical staff.

• Develop value added processes for transportation need that facilitate on-time delivery.

• Execute a range of planning activities including development of sea/air freight lanes, on time delivery KPIs, and customer support.

• Conduct transportation risk evaluations, material lead time analysis and engage in supplier risk/supplier score card evaluation in collaboration with Siemens procurement, logistics & supplier quality teams. Identify at risk material and develop strategies to mitigate delivery failures.

• Escalate and coordinate at risk material to elevated service levels.

• Facilitate communication between the procurement team and project teams for delivery status.

Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Assess 3PL handling of Siemens inventory. Monitor 3PL KPI and escalate trends as necessary.

What You Bring

• 3+ years of experience within supply chain or logistics, with a background in transportation planning, logistics planner or customer service (logistics base).

• Associates degree preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office with a focus on Excel and Power BI. Experience in SAP, WMS & Supplier Portals.

• Profound experience in transportation planning, supplier portal navigation, and prioritization.

• A well-developed knowledge of risk management, ocean/air freight lanes, and Incoterms 2020.

• Ability to maintain consistent, concise and documented communication between freight forwarders and supporting Siemens’ team members.

• Develop and coach carriers to meet shipping & delivery deadlines.
