Overview:

Does developing new business concepts and driving growth interest you? If so, we are looking for a high energy, self-starter candidate that is passionate about developing new business areas and owning the Go to Market and Sales strategies for our "Total Plant" product line offerings.

The Total Plant Product Manager is part of the New Products Service Sales team and is responsible for developing new business related to total plant solutions product line. The primary focus will be continuing to drive valuable plant assessments in the areas of performance/flexibility evaluations and plant upgrade capabilities with the end goal of finding up-sell opportunities for our customers. Existing power plants need to become more flexible to stay profitable in the current market and plant assessments will be used to identify tailor made solutions that will help a plant achieve its flexibility goals. Additionally, this role will identify and pursue opportunities to repurpose existing generation assets into synchronous condensers to be used for grid stability. With the influx on renewable energy coming online in the US, the need for grid stabilization assets has increased.

The position will work closely with Field Sales, Marketing, and Engineering.

How You’ll Make an Impact (responsibilities)

  • Grow the business by driving Plant Assessments within our existing fleet gas and steam turbine fleet that will identify upgrade and flexibility options to meet customer needs.
  • Provide market analysis, target pricing, and customer segmentation for all new total plant related products and business models.
  • Perform region impact analysis for business development activities.
  • Identify and win orders from targeted customers for the product portfolio or new business model.
  • Maintain CRM platform, Salesforce, for all opportunities associated within product portfolio.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to promote and sell total plant products within the US and Canada.
  • Work closely with account management teams to develop and implement sales strategies, including product presentations, demonstrations, and technical proposals.
  • Build relationships with new and existing clients to understand their needs and provide individualized solutions and complex commercial constructs as needed to meet the customer’s desired outcomes.
  • Lead critical initiatives and work with the engineering team to identify and create solutions with gas turbines, steam turbines, and balance of plant equipment that will help our customers achieve their flexibility and reliability goals.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and market demands to identify new opportunities and enhance our competitive position.
  • Travel to customer sites, industry events, and conferences as needed to support sales efforts and build relationships.

What You Bring (requirements)

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in engineering required with at least 5 years of experience in a previous engineering, project management, business development, or technical sales position.
  • Understanding of combine cycle power plant technology, controls, design principles, and/or applications is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Self-motivated and results-driven, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working in a cross-functional team environment including Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Project Management, and Legal.
  • Willingness to travel domestically as required. Up to 15% travel.
  • This is position follows a hybrid work location model, where a minimum of 3 days per week will be in one of our primary office locations, and the remaining days may be worked from an alternate location.
