A snapshot of your day

As a Technical Sales Expert for GT Substations, you will be the primary technical and commercial liaison for our substation solutions in the South American market. This role is crucial for driving sales growth by developing accurate, competitive, and timely proposals. You will work at the intersection of sales, bid, engineering, and project management, translating complex customer requirements into compelling technical and commercial offers.

Your core responsibilities will include the end-to-end management of the quoting process, from analyzing customer specifications to preparing detailed proposals using tools like Salesforce. This involves close collaboration with internal stakeholders, including engineering for design compliance, procurement for costing, and field services for implementation strategies. You will be instrumental in identifying cost-effective solutions and ensuring our proposals provide maximum value to our customers and the business.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in electrical engineering or a related field, combined with proven experience in the energy sector, specifically with substations or grid technologies. You must be proficient in managing complex sales cycles, building relationships with technical experts, and communicating value propositions effectively. Your expertise will directly contribute to winning key projects and strengthening our market position in the region.

How You’ll Make an Impact

·       Develop and prepare time-critical and budgetary technical-commercial proposals for GT Substation projects and services.

·       Utilize and maintain the Configure Price Quote (CPQ) system within Salesforce for accurate quoting and opportunity management.

·       Analyze customer technical specifications, drawings, and requirements to ensure proposals are compliant and competitive.

·       Review product designs and service offerings to define implementation strategies and scopes of work for inclusion in proposals.

·       Collaborate closely with Engineering, Procurement, Project Management, and Field Service teams to gather accurate inputs for proposals.

·       Foster and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external vendors to ensure seamless project hand-over and execution.

·       Identify cost-effective solutions and value-engineering opportunities to enhance proposal competitiveness and profitability.

·       Support the regional sales team by providing deep technical expertise on GT Substation products and solutions during customer interactions.

·       Develop and manage technical product and service bulletins for the substations portfolio.

·       Monitor market trends and competitor activities related to substation technologies, pricing, and project execution models.

What You Bring

·       Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business, or a related technical field.

·       Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical sales, sales support, proposal management, or product management within the energy or power transmission sector.

·       Knowledge in Grid Technology (GT) Substation Products & Applications and High Voltage (HV) and Medium Voltage (MV) equipment in the energy sector

·       Knowledge in interpersonal & Commercial Skills, technical sales, customer Relationship Management, negotiation and stakeholder Management
