A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Technical Project Manager (Transmission) at Siemens Energy Limited, you’ll be at the helm of delivering high voltage transmission systems from concept through to commissioning and handover. Your day will involve coordinating with various stakeholders, managing project timelines, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and supporting the wider project team to achieve overall objectives. You’ll be responsible for preparing technical documentation, managing subcontractor packages, and ensuring the successful delivery of the project within defined cost, time, and performance parameters.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Execute projects within defined requirements for cost, time, functionality, safety, and performance.
  • Supervise and lead a team of Project Engineers and Design Engineers.
  • Ensure compliance with Business Management Systems and company policies.
  • Manage subcontractor and supplier packages from delivery to handover.
  • Identify and report risks, variations, and opportunities to senior management.
  • Prepare and present formal monthly progress reports.
  • Ensure professional stakeholder management and customer satisfaction.
  • Administer commercial aspects of subcontracts and manage changes effectively.
  • Monitor engineering budgets and input to forecasts.
  • Implement risk mitigation measures and ensure compliance with CDM obligations.

What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in the Transmission and Distribution industry.
  • At least 3 years in a Transmission Technical Project Manager role.
  • Strong knowledge of HV Primary transmission systems and components.
  • Experience in purchasing procedures and strong negotiating skills.
  • Awareness of commercial and contractual issues.
  • High IT literacy, including proficiency in MS Office and MS Project.
  • Formal qualifications in Electrical Engineering (HND/HNC level minimum).
  • Qualified at APMP/IPMA ‘C’ level or equivalent.
  • Good communicator with a proactive demeanor.
  • Experience working as part of a large Project Delivery Team.
  • Strong commercial and contractual awareness.
  • Understanding of CDM Regulations 2015 and Health & Safety legislation.
