For our Transformation of Industry Business Area for Siemens Energy in Ankara, we are looking for a Steam Turbine Commissioning Engineer to be responsible for performing the required service activities during outages of our Steam Turbine fleet equipment and reporting to the Business Unit Head.

 What are my responsibilities?

  • Preparation, planning and execution for Commissioning & Start Up of Steam Turbine and its Systems
  • Perform commissioning of turbines during COLD and HOT commissioning phases, starting from single component to the full system (Turbine and auxiliaries) according to specifications, and engineering documents, including functional tests and logic interlocks verification
  • Review test results and prepare test reports to confirm compliance with technical specifications
  • Effectively identifies technical or schedule problems as they occur and takes appropriate actions to resolve including escalation of more complex issues to a higher level, providing expert advice and technical assistance to support staff and subordinate technicians of customers
  • Facilitate the turnover of systems from erection to commissioning and from commissioning to customer in accordance with project requirements and work instruction
  • Preparing as built documentation, quality records and commissioning reports
  • Supporting continuous improvement of process/product/system design, participating in internal review meetings, providing inputs on commissioning activities and other tasks and equipment
  • Develop strong relationships and interface with our customers as well as counterparts in Turkey and regional headquarters
  • Performs day to day activities as part of a team or as stand-alone function and other duties as assigned
  • Comply with the Siemens Energy standard EHS process and quality standards

 What do I need to qualify for this job?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Mechatronics/Electrical Engineering
  • 5 years of experience in field service environment
  • General profound understanding of technical equipment and ability to work with/based on technical documentation
  • Experience working with rotating equipment as gas turbines, steam turbines and generators
  • Good general skills in mechanical, instrument, and control activities of power generation equipment or in the Oil & Gas industry and willingness to continuously work hands-on under time pressure and in difficult conditions
  • Experience working at Power Plant is preferred
  • Knowledge of and working experience with rotating equipment especially steam turbines would be an asset
  • Strong analytical skills with an affinity to technology and innovation in the service industry combined with a proactive and convincing attitude
  • Knowledge and experience of SPPA-T3000 Control System would be an asset
  • Excellent communication skills, good command of written and spoken in English

 What else do I need to know?

  • Military service should have been completed for male candidates
  • Having a valid driving license
  • In case of necessity to work on public holidays/weekend
  • Flexible for travelling about 70% yearly
  • Based in Ankara is an asset, but not mandatory remote location is also possible
