How to contribute to our vision


As a Service Engineer for Gas Turbine Commissioning, you will be a key technical expert responsible for the successful installation and startup of large gas turbines at project sites worldwide. Your primary focus will be on the hands-on clold and hot commissioning of gas turbines and their auxiliary systems, ensuring they operate flawlessly from day one. You will work as an integral part of a global project team, collaborating closely with project managers, engineering departments, and clients to execute the commissioning scope according to contractual requirements. Your responsibilities will include daily reporting on progress, adherence to strict company procedures, and effective communication to ensure alignment across all stakeholders. This position demands a high degree of autonomy, adaptability, and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a dynamic and challenging environment. Safety is a core component of this role. You will be expected to champion a zero-harm safety culture on-site, ensuring all commissioning activities are performed in compliance with the highest safety standards and protocols. This position involves extensive international travel and offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge energy projects, contributing directly to the reliability and efficiency of power generation infrastructure.


How You’ll Make an Impact


  • 60% Commissioning and Troubleshooting
  • Perform commissioning of turbines during COLD and HOT commissioning phases, from single components to the full system (Turbine and auxiliaries), including functional tests and logic interlocks verification.
  • Contribute to planning and implementing commissioning activities, supporting, and coordinating installation activities with the Installation Supervisor/Site Manager.
  • Implement commissioning design changes and provide mark-ups for as-built project documentation.
  • Identify technical or schedule problems as they occur, take vital actions to resolve them, and bring up challenging issues to higher levels, offering expert advice and technical assistance to support staff and customers.
  • 30% Project Execution and Reporting
  • Review and execute the project scope in accordance with contractual requirements.
  • Collaborate with the project team, providing daily detailed reports on commissioning activities and progress.
  • Provide recommendations to customers based on specifications and requirements.
  • 10% Safety and Compliance
  • Understanding of industry standards for Quality and HSE
  • Ensure all commissioning activities adhere to established company procedures and quality standards.
  • Actively promote and manage a zero-harm safety culture on-site during all project phases.


What You Bring


Education

  • Bachelor/Master of Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Process), or a High School Diploma
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in the commissioning and troubleshooting in the power generation, oli&gas or a similar industry.


Skills

Technical Skills

  • General understanding of technical equipment and the ability to work with technical documentation
  • Experience in power plant operations, Oil & Gas operations, or specific Gas turbine operations and maintenance is an advantage
  • Digital literacy and proficiency in relevant IT applications (Microsoft Office); additional IT skills are helpful
  • Behavioral Competencies
  • Proactive, problem-solving attitude with a readiness to take on additional tasks to improve the status quo
  • Strong analytical skills with an affinity for technology and innovation in the service industry, combined with a proactive and convincing attitude
  • Ability to work independently under pressure, multitask, and solve problems in a complex environment while collaborating with international teams
  • Willingness to travel 100% of the time, typically on site for 200 days per year (worldwide projects)


Language Skills

  • Proficient in English (written and oral); other languages are beneficial
