A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Senior Commodity Manager, you will be responsible for strategic sourcing and category management of Converters, Cabinets, and SCADA systems for Wind Power Operations in India. Your day will revolve around analyzing the electrical components market, leading supplier evaluations, and driving sourcing strategies that balance cost, quality, and supply security. You will act as the primary commercial contact for key suppliers, manage performance reviews, negotiate high‑value contracts, and proactively mitigate supply chain risks. As a senior professional, you will work independently on complex commodity topics while coaching junior team members and ensuring seamless procurement operations across SAP and related tools.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Strategic Sourcing & Category Management (40%)
- Develop and execute global sourcing strategies for Converters, Cabinets, and SCADA commodities to achieve optimal cost, quality, and supply resilience.
- Conduct market research and spend analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities in the electrical component space.
- Lead supplier identification, evaluation, and selection based on technical capabilities, financial stability, and performance metrics.
- Drive value engineering and continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers to achieve cost‑reduction targets without compromising quality.
Supplier Relationship & Performance Management (30%)
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, acting as the primary point of contact for commercial and performance matters.
- Define and monitor supplier KPIs, leading regular business reviews to ensure ongoing improvement.
- Manage supplier performance, resolve complex issues, and collaborate with internal stakeholders on integration plans.
- Coach and review work from junior procurement professionals, promoting best practices in supplier management.
Contract & Risk Management (30%)
- Lead negotiations for complex, high‑value contracts, ensuring favorable pricing, terms, and service levels.
- Oversee the full contract lifecycle to maintain compliance with legal, policy, and ethical standards.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks such as supply volatility, geopolitical constraints, and single‑source dependencies.
- Ensure efficient procurement operations through accurate documentation, invoicing, and order processing using SAP and procurement software.
What You Bring
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in strategic sourcing or commodity management, ideally within the energy, manufacturing, or industrial sectors.
- Proven experience managing complex electrical or electromechanical commodities on a global scale.
Certifications
- Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM)
