Sobre a função
A Snapshot of Your Day
A Field Service Cost Estimator involves developing detailed cost estimates for maintenance quotes and bids related to large, medium, and small gas turbines, steam turbines, and associated generators in response to customer RFQs (request for quotations). The estimator collaborates with engineering and sales teams to capture project details, assess risks, and ensure estimates align with scope and budget. They mentor other estimators in the Latin America region, maintain cost calculators, and document changes to the estimating process, all while managing multiple projects to support the growth of the service business!
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Develop Comprehensive Cost Estimates: Create tactical and strategic cost estimates for quotes and bids in response to RFQs, ensuring alignment with project scope and budget to minimize overruns.
- Support Business Growth: Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Service Programs to provide detailed cost estimates that enhance the competitiveness of bids for new work, contributing to the growth of the service business.
- Risk Assessment and Management: Identify and evaluate potential risks associated with Field Service projects to advise the development of accurate cost estimates and mitigate financial exposure.
- Mentorship and Quality Assurance: Mentor and review estimates prepared by other team members to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with the defined scope of work, thereby minimizing the risk of non-conformance costs (NCCs).
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Work closely with internal teams (engineering, sales, marketing, and field service guides) to ensure that all aspects of the service can be quoted and implemented effectively, while documenting all assumptions and clarifications.
- Continuous Improvement of Estimating Processes: Maintain and enhance existing cost calculators and tools, supervise changes to the estimating process, and provide executive summaries for any cost adjustments, supporting audit reviews and reporting
