A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in automating application build and deployment processes and ensuring seamless operations through proactive monitoring. You'll apply your expertise in DevOps, cloud services, and scripting to improve reliability and efficiency for our core systems.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Design, configure, and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines for automated application build, testing, and deployment.
  • Develop scripts and integrations to streamline and optimize the delivery of new software releases.
  • Monitor file processing activities and system health in TDC using AWS CloudWatch; respond quickly to incidents and anomalies.
  • Collaborate with developers, QA, and cloud teams to ensure smooth, stable deployment and operational practices.
  • Document pipeline configurations, deployment routines, and monitoring processes for transparency and maintainability.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve build or deployment failures; conduct root-cause analyses for recurring issues.
  • Proactively suggest and implement improvements to deployment automation and monitoring strategies.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 4+ years of experience in software engineering or DevOps roles.
  • Proficiency with GitLab CI/CD, including pipeline creation, automation, and standard methodologies.
  • Solid experience with AWS services, especially CloudWatch for monitoring and alerting.
  • Working knowledge of scripting languages (Bash, Python, or similar).
  • Strong solving skills and the ability to respond rapidly to operational incidents.
  • Understanding of modern software deployment processes, release management, and version control.
  • Clear documentation and communication abilities, with a collaborative approach.
  • Prior experience with other AWS services (e.g., Lambda, S3, ECS/EKS).
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation).
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience in monitoring high-volume or business-critical file processing systems.
  • Passion for automation, continuous improvement, and DevOps culture.

In the central Digital Products and Solutions (DPS) organization, our Software Application and Engineering department is responsible for developing software solutions for both internal and external customers.

In DPS, our software products already cover a wide range of categories, and we see many opportunities for growth: Asset Performance Management, Energy Management, Asset Monitoring, Asset Health Prediction, Customer Portal & AI-assisted Applications, Connectivity & Edge, Backend Core / Domain / Platform Services, and Professional Services.
