A Snapshot of Your Day

The Operations Manager position is responsible for Gas Turbine Rotor Assembly and Rotor Machining Departments. The role requires leading manufacturing, repair and replacement of all Gas Turbine components and projects including customer outages. The Operations Manager will lead their team and cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of components and services for the energy customers. The complex projects include design, planning, and manufacturing and cost control. High level of engagement with work force to drive continuous improvement activity and safety excellence.

  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to customer service and meeting customer, business partner and Siemens Energy expectations.
  • Interface and collaborate with various support teams, most critically with project managers, engineering, quoting and the GT service team. You are the focal point that drives organizational success from quoting to shipping.
  • Ensuring that training and skill development of new team members is planned and managed so that we are getting job ready to help deliver safely and with good quality and workmanship.
  • Products include Gas turbine components that have Assembly, Machining, and Welding. Customers include power generation facilities and Oil/Gas.
  • We seek a leader with a proven track record of managing manufacturing processes and people. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Gas Turbine. Responsibility for Dept budgets, Productivity, Schedule performance, and customer satisfaction of the projects assigned.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor of Science in engineering or other applicable field at a minimum of 12 + years of experience. Previous supervisory or management experience is required. Experience in lieu of education and vice versa will be considered for the right candidate.
  • People management skills including setting expectations, driving accountability, and coaching for growth and development.
  • Understanding of Gas Turbine parts manufacturing / Repair, CNC machining and Heat treatment processes. GD&T, PPAP/PPQ, FAI background necessary.
  • Excellent communications skills to motivate the team as well as to win customer confidence.
  • Understanding of business financials.
  • Six sigma or continuous improvement training, as well as good problem-solving abilities.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.

About the Team

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
