A Snapshot of Your Day
The Logistics Support Professional will be responsible for managing and optimizing logistics operations, ensuring timely and efficient service delivery, and fostering strong relationships with logistics service providers. This role involves conducting Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), managing freight payment processes, and driving logistics optimization projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to educate and train internal teams on logistics best-practices!
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Collect input from Order Management and align with Global Logistics in preparation for Quarterly Business Review (QBR). Present performance metrics and improvement opportunities during QBRs.
- Provide timely and continuous feedback to Logistics Service Providers regarding their performance. Educate Logistics Service Providers on Siemens Energy requirements and processes. Handle escalation support for recurring or critical topics, including 2nd level issues. Assist in raising critical issues by providing necessary documents, processes, and contacts.
- Establish and maintain productive relationships with forwarders and carriers by developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Ensure timely payment of freight invoices and handle exception management and funding. Collect and analyze shipment data to drive logistics priorities and decision-making. Review and optimize logistics transportation modes, lanes, and service levels. Manage data analytics and reporting related to logistics in Gas Services North America (GS NA). Find opportunities for cost reduction while maintaining customer service levels.
- Provide training to internal teams on logistics best-processes, tools, and methods. Educate local supplier branches on Order Management (OM) business specifics and logistics requirements. Manage claims processing with Logistics Service Providers and ensure timely resolution.
- Monitor and control special logistics projects, including MercuryGate, TM4ALL implementation. Expedite urgent shipments and manage tendering processes for operational and strategic quoting. Monitor inventory and current shipment lists as part of ongoing deliveries.
- Establish standard logistics practices tailored to internal customer needs. Create and update Siemens Energy approved Forwarders. Set up Customer/End User Freight Forwarders in SAP and Ariba.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience. 8+ years of proven experience in logistics operations, supply chain management, or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and drive decision-making. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with internal and external partners!
- Proficiency in logistics management software and tools (e.g., TMS, SharePoint). Knowledge of freight payment processes and exception handling.
- Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
