A Snapshot of Your Day

This is the ideal position for a technical skillset where every day is a busy, unique and challenging day.  The Production Planner has many responsibilities and is the heartbeat of the team.  They are closely tied to the Shop Floor and the Technical team to ensure the quoted durations for each project are accurate and prioritized for executing on time delivery.  They are also responsible for reporting out schedules for status to Customers.

The many areas that must feed into the final assembly area provides a dynamic scheduling challenge for production planning as scope of work and resource challenges make every day different and exciting!  We work closely with a multi-discipline team to gather information, assess resources, adjust plans and report out information.

 

How You’ll Make an Impact

The primary job requirements of this position are to plan and schedule the projects and resources for the Generator Final Assembly area.

Responsibilities include:

  • Build and manage production schedules, daily work assignments, and monthly forecasts to meet delivery and financial targets
  • Coordinate cross‑functional inputs from Tendering, PM, Engineering, Purchasing, Resource Management, and the shop floor to drive projects to completion
  • Pick, kit, and stage parts and bulk materials required for generator assembly
  • Analyze resource needs across all queued projects to anticipate conflicts and support accurate quoting and manpower planning
  • Provide Microsoft Project schedules and progress updates to Marketing, Purchasing, Order Management, PM, Technical Services, and internal/external customers
  • Partner closely with production supervision and operators to maintain smooth workflow, adapt to dynamic schedules, and uphold safety, quality, and housekeeping standards

 

What You Bring

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a Manufacturing or Engineering related concentration with 5+ years of manufacturing experience.
  • A background with planning in a highly dynamic environment and an ability to work across multi-disciplinary teams to collaborate and coordinate best schedule efforts.
  • The ideal applicant will have experience with Microsoft Projects and SAP, along with proficiency in Windows based programs like Excel and Word.
  • Provide leadership in the Generator Final Assembly area to conduct meetings and guide daily priority planning to successful execution of Product Work scope.
  • Strong communication skills are extremely important as well as flexibility to respond on nights and weekends when needed to support urgent customer projects in the factory.
