A Snapshot of Your Day

The Head of Operational Excellence and Digitalization position at SE Gas Services Blades & Vanes Tampa is essential for driving process improvements and integrating digital solutions to enhance operational efficiency for our manufacturing site. To meet these objectives, this role focuses on three core areas: leading strategic operational excellence initiatives, driving the implementation of digital tools and data analytics, and managing team performance and stakeholder collaboration. This structure ensures a comprehensive approach to modernizing manufacturing processes and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Given the focus on process optimization and digital transformation, the ideal candidate will be an experienced manager with a proven track record in a manufacturing environment. They will possess deep expertise in Lean Six Sigma methodologies, program management, and leading teams to achieve tangible business results.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive operational excellence strategy utilizing Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Identify and analyze key business and manufacturing processes to uncover improvement opportunities that reduce costs, eliminate waste, and increase productivity.
  • Facilitate process mapping workshops and root cause analysis sessions to address complex operational challenges effectively.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement across the Tampa Operations site by providing training and mentorship on process improvement tools and principles.
  • Drive the digitalization of manufacturing and business processes by identifying and implementing relevant technologies and software solutions.
  • Leverage data from systems like SAP and analytics platforms such as Tableau to monitor performance, generate insights, and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Manage a team of experienced professionals, setting clear goals, providing regular feedback, and establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the progress and impact of operational excellence and digitalization initiatives.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in operational excellence, process improvement, or a related field, preferably within a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to lead teams and drive strategic initiatives.
  • Certifications in Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt) and Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in process improvement methodologies, including Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen, process mapping, root cause analysis, and quality improvement.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with capabilities in influencing, program management, collaboration, accountability, and technical and analytical acumen, including experience with SAP applications and Tableau.
  • This position may require an export license from the Department of Commerce, Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the Department of State, Directorate of Defense Trade Controls. Issuance of any required license is a prerequisite for this position.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
