A Snapshot of Your Day

As the Global Head of Systems for Supplier Quality & Development (SQD) you are an important part of the corporate Siemens Energy (SE) Strategic Procurement function and SQD team. You are responsible for leading a team of experts in commodities, material fields and manufacturing processes in support of Strategic Procurement’s global Systems commodities, including Field Service, Rotating & Auxiliaries and Electrical Systems for SE’s growing product portfolio.  You and your team collaborate with Commodity Managers in SE Procurement Direct Materials, CVE colleagues, Design Engineers in our various businesses, and SQD colleagues from Corporate and Business Area teams to deliver fully capable supply chains for our businesses, develop ready technologies for implementation into our designs and provide technical expertise to our Procurement colleagues in the businesses to help deliver solutions to supply chain challenges.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of global supply chains for assigned corporate commodities, including regional locations, technical capabilities and capacities, technology innovations, and SWAT analysis.
  • Form strong partnerships between SQD Systems team members and DM Systems Commodity Managers for meaningful technical contributions to global commodity strategies and achieve performance targets for Components commodities.
  • Create technology roadmaps for each System commodity and drive technical standards and manufacturing technologies to readiness level in collaboration with Engineering/R&D.
  • Collaborate with SQD Supplier Development to assess suppliers’ technical and performance capabilities and lead supplier audits for corporate managed global Systems suppliers.
  • Serve as the primary technical service provider for businesses, assisting with Product & Process Qualifications (PPQ & R2O), contributing to Supplier Development plans, and addressing technical quality or performance challenges at suppliers.
  • Deliver efficient resource and budget plans to support team objectives and performance.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Operations, or a related field; Master’s or PhD preferred! 10+ years professional and leadership experience in Project Execution in Engineering, Quality, or Supply Chain Management positions.
  • Strong project management skills and an innovative mindset that challenges legacy approaches.
  • People-oriented and performance-minded approach with a focus on team development and coaching.
  • Ability to negotiate and operate effectively in diverse cultural environments.
  • Proficiency in English, German fluency is a plus; Willingness to travel as required.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
