A Snapshot of Your Day
As an Environmental Manager you are responsible for leading and managing the environmental aspects at the Transformation of Industry, one of the four Business Areas of Siemens Energy. In this role you act as a project manager for implementing the Corporate Sustainability Directive (CSRD). You focus on developing and implementing effective environmental policies and introducing processes for environmental data management from the site level till the strategy department of Transformation of Industry. You are part of the sustainability team and work closely with the four Independently Managed Businesses (IMBs) of Transformation of Industry.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Acting as the environmental subject matter expert and the project manager for the implementation of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) for the Independently Managed Businesses (IMBs) of Transformation of Industry
- Supporting the sites in further developing and improving the environmental framework as well as establishing related processes, including data management jointly with the colleagues from the Independently Managed Businesses (IMBs)
- Supporting the strategy team in understanding implications of the environmental regulation on customer requirements and strategy definition
- Providing input to business steering by translating regulatory requirements into meaningful KPIs
- Monitoring relevant policy decisions in and outside the EU as well as making sure Transformation of Industry is prepared for the upcoming developments such as the implementation of the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD)
- Working collaboratively with other Business Areas and Corporate functions to support a coherent implementation of regulatory requirements across Siemens Energy
What You Bring
- Excellent university degree in environmental engineering, engineering, sustainability studies, environmental and resource management or business administration if coupled with relevant work experience (Master, MBA, PhD)
- At least 3-5 years professional experience in related roles, e. g. consulting, relevant roles within the industry sector
- Deep understanding of environmental policies and standards (in and outside the EU)
- Hands-on, results-oriented as well as team player mentality
- Technical knowledge of Siemens Energy technologies is an advantage but not a precondition
- Executive presence, ability to prepare and moderate meetings with senior management
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, ability to find compromises in multi-stakeholder decision-making processes
- Strong analytical thinking skills as well as excellent proficiency in English
