A Snapshot of Your Day
As an Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Engineer, you will conduct daily walk-throughs to identify potential hazards and verify compliance with safety standards within the switchgear assembly area. You will monitor key performance indicators. You will manage incidents and guide incident investigations to determine the root cause. You will develop emergency plans, safety training programs, and risk and machinery analyses. You will attend internal and external audits and follow up on the closure of findings. You will be a generator and multiplier of the zero-harm culture and prepare reports for EHS management on safety trends.

- Reducing workplace accidents: You will implement preventative measures that will reduce the frequency and severity of incidents, protect employee well-being and reduce costs associated with accidents.
- Ensuring regulatory compliance: You will ensure that the company complies with all Mexican and international environmental and safety regulations, avoiding fines, sanctions, and closures.
- Continuous process improvement: You will identify opportunities to optimize operations from an EHS perspective, contributing to operational efficiency.
- Strengthening a Zero Harm culture: You will develop awareness programs that will transform employee attitudes toward safety, creating a safer work environment.
- Cost optimization: You will efficiently manage resources related to safety and the environment, identifying potential savings without compromising standards.
- Operational continuity: You will develop contingency plans that will allow the company to maintain operations even in adverse situations.
What You Bring
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in industrial, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering, with at least 3 years of experience in industrial or field environments (manufacturing, oil industry).
- Management Systems & Regulations: Practical knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001, along with expertise in Mexican safety and environmental regulations (NOM, STPS, SEMARNAT) and international standards.
- Risk & Incident Management: Ability to identify, assess, and mitigate operational risks, including conducting incident investigations and root cause analysis.
- Continuous Improvement & Lean Methodologies: Application of tools such as Kaizen, 5S, and lean to enhance EHS processes and performance.
- Cultural Adaptability & Resilience: Capacity to integrate German safety and quality standards into the Mexican context, maintaining high performance under pressure.
- Digital & Communication Skills: Proficiency in EHS management software, data analysis, and the ability to communicate technical requirements clearly across all organizational levels.
About the Team
The Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) team plays a critical role in our operations. This position reports to the Site EHS Manager and collaborates closely with all operational areas. As part of this multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to Siemens Energy’s “Zero Harm” vision, working alongside global EHS professionals to exchange best practices. You will integrate safety into daily operations by partnering with project, production, maintenance, quality, and development teams. The role offers access to continuous training and international certifications, participation in strategic sustainability initiatives, and involvement in the digital transformation of EHS processes through innovative technologies.
