Sobre a função
Snapshot of Your Day
As a fundamental pillar of operational success at Siemens Energy, your daily routine will be defined by a constant field presence and strategic safety management. In this role, you won’t just be a supervisor; you will be the guardian of the well-being of every person involved in this substation construction project. Your impact will be direct and tangible: you will be the preventive leader ensuring that every activity—from the simplest task to the most critical operation—is executed under the highest standards, guiding contractors to eliminate risks before they become incidents. Your technical expertise will allow you to identify and correct deviations in real-time, acting as a vital communication bridge between the project team, the end client, and contractors, ensuring that the "Zero Harm" culture is the common language of the entire operation.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Lead the implementation of the Project’s HSEQ Plan, ensuring alignment with ISO 45001 & ISO 14001 while strictly adhering to the Guyana Occupational Safety and Health Act (No. 32 of 1997) and Siemens Energy’s global procedures to meet local statutory requirements
- Evaluate risk assessments (RAM/IPERC) and Job Safety Analyses (JSA/AST). Enforce Critical Controls for high-risk tasks (Heights, Electrical, Confined Space) utilizing US OSHA Standards (29 CFR 1910/1926) as the technical benchmark for compliance where local regulations require supplementary guidance.
- Guarantee strict adherence to Guyana’s Occupational Safety and Health Act and the Environmental Protection Act, as well as internal policies (Zero Harm, Zero Tolerance, Alcohol & Drug-Free Workplace). Act as the technical liaison with local authorities for permitting and legal requirements
- Execute the project’s Environmental Management Plan, supervising proper waste disposal (hazardous and non-hazardous), spill prevention controls, and compliance with EPA Guyana regulations. Ensure construction activities do not generate uncontrolled environmental impacts.
- Implement the "Zero Harm" Program on-site. Design and execute the training matrix (Inductions, Toolbox Talks, Specific Workshops), promoting safe behaviors and active workforce participation to strengthen the safety culture.
- Conduct routine site inspections and Safety Walks with the leadership team to identify deviations in real-time. Plan and support internal/external audits, acting as the focal point for managing the closure of findings and non-conformities.
- Lead the investigation of all incidents and accidents (safety & environmental) using Root Cause Analysis (RCA) methodologies, reporting statistics and lessons learned in a timely manner. Coordinate Emergency Preparedness and Response plans (drills, medical response, brigades).
- Prepare and submit executive HSEQ reports (Weekly, Monthly, and Final Dossier) for the Client and Siemens Energy management. Maintain up-to-date documentation, accident statistics (KPIs), and legal records ensuring full traceability.
- Serve as the primary HSEQ advisor to the Contract Administrator and technical supervisors. Support the Joint Safety Committee and ensure that safety is integrated as a core value in all project planning and execution phases.
