A Snapshot of Your Day

The Customs Classifier is responsible for accurately determining Harmonized System (HS) codes for imported and exported goods. This role ensures compliance with Customs regulations, supports efficient customs clearance, and mitigates risks related to misclassification, duties, and trade restrictions.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Analyze product specifications and technical documentation to accurate correct HS codes, applying the General Rules of Interpretation, Section/Chapter Notes, and Binding Tariff Information (BTI) rulings.
• Maintain and update classification databases and records, ensuring accuracy and traceability.
• Liaise with internal teams (operations, procurement, logistics) to collect material data and collaborate with regulatory bodies when required.
• Respond to customs inquiries and classification challenges, providing technical justifications and consulting relevant BTIs.
• Monitor changes in customs legislation and communicate updates to stakeholders in a timely manner.
• Support audits and internal reviews related to customs declarations, ensuring compliance across all processes.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Engineering, Law, Economics, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of professional experience; a technical background is considered a plus.
• Strong knowledge of Customs regulations and import/export control policies.
• Proficiency in classification tools and databases such as TARIC and SAP.
• Excellent analytical, documentation, and organizational skills.
• Fluency in English; additional EU languages are an advantage.
