A Snapshot of Your Day

The Customs Quality Management function is responsible for ensuring compliance with import regulations, identifying opportunities for customs duty savings, preparing monthly and quarterly customs data reports, and managing customs duty and broker payments. As a member of the Customs Quality team, your primary responsibility will be to support the customs duties and broker billing processes for US operations. This includes tasks such as invoice reconciliation, auditing, and payment processing. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve discrepancies and ensure that payments are made in a timely manner.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Broker service invoicing and payment: Assist invoicing and payments for customs broker services, review vendor invoices, monitor accounts, and resolve inconsistencies.
• Supporting the customs duty payment program: Assist in timely processing and payment of customs duty statements, distribute import data to Siemens Energy, Inc. business areas, and support financial reconciliation.
• Audits and compliance: Perform audits for accuracy in broker and customs duties charges, ensuring adherence to regulations and company policies.
• Financial record maintenance: Maintain and update accurate financial records and written procedures.
• Collaboration and reporting: Generate detailed billing reports for management and finance, resolve billing issues, and collaborate on process improvements to boost efficiency and accuracy.

What You Bring

• Entry level or less than 2 years of accounting or related business experience.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or high school diploma.
• Fluent language skills (written and verbal) in Spanish and English are a must.
• Comfortable handling numbers and processing financial information.
• Excellent knowledge in MS Office, especially Excel
• Knowledge of ERP / IT systems such as SAP, MIC, Integration Point, etc. a plus but not required.
