A Snapshot of Your Day

Imagine stepping into a dynamic role where you lead the charge in transforming procurement strategies for Siemens Energy’s Grid Technology business. As the Commodity Manager for Mechanical Systems, you’ll identify and qualify suppliers, negotiate complex contracts, and build strategic partnerships to support large infrastructure projects. Your day will be filled with collaboration, as you work closely with internal teams to ensure timely delivery of high-quality services. With a focus on innovation and continuous improvement, you’ll drive sourcing strategies that align with project objectives and contribute to Siemens Energy’s mission of sustainable energy solutions.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • You will identify and qualify suppliers, developing a pipeline that meets Siemens Energy’s needs for cost savings, quality, and timely delivery.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with suppliers, fostering innovation and ensuring performance standards are met.
  • Lead complex contract negotiations, ensuring agreements are structured with favorable commercial terms and compliance with corporate requirements.
  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies that enhance cost-efficiency and quality for global projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align procurement strategies with project requirements and technical specifications.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate the performance of suppliers against contractual commitments, key performance indicators (KPIs). 
  • Implement risk mitigation strategies for contracts to address supply chain disruptions, price volatility, supplier performance issues or any other challenges related to third-party service suppliers.
  • Explore opportunities in emerging markets to enhance the global supply chain, driving cost competitiveness and expanding Siemens Energy’s supplier base.
  • Ensure all procurement activities are compliant with Siemens Energy policies, legal requirements, and industry standards.

What You Bring

  • A university degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of professional experience in Strategic Procurement, Commodity Management, or Project Management.
  • Proven track record in advanced negotiation concepts and contract negotiations.
  • Strong understanding of global procurement practices and supplier relationship management.
  • Excellent change management skills and demonstrated ability to lead change
  • Willingness to travel internationally up to 25% of the time
  • Advanced Business English proficiency; German is a plus.
