A Snapshot of Your Day
Imagine being part of our HVDC Protection Team, where you will play a crucial role in testing and verifying the hardware and software for our cutting-edge HVDC Projects at our Test Center. You will ensure the proper functionality and high quality of our HVDC Plants worldwide during the commissioning phase. Collaborating closely with project management, engineering, and end customers, you will provide tailored solutions that leverage the latest innovations in HVDC technology.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- You will actively advance the Energy Transition by successfully completing HVDC projects alongside our customers.
- As part of a project team in Integration Testing, you will conduct Functional Tests of the Control & Protection hardware and software in our test centers.
- You will independently trace bugs and support our Software Engineering team in debugging efforts.
- Execute and document the Functional Performance Tests (FPT) and Dynamic Performance Tests (DPT) of the HVDC System, including Customer Acceptance Tests.
- Oversee the commissioning of the Measuring System, DC Protection System, and Transient Fault Recorder for our HVDC Projects, working with a highly motivated team at customer sites worldwide.
- Support our Commissioning Management in Quality, Risk, and Claim Management while actively participating in our improvement programs.
What You Bring
- A completed degree in electrical engineering, energy technology, or a comparable qualification.
- Good knowledge in project planning and testing using MATLAB/SIMULINK, Siemens SIMATIC TDC/S7, CFC, and grid protection systems.
- Experience in Electrical Engineering and commissioning of Electrical Power Stations or HVDC Systems is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with Current and Voltage Measuring devices and other primary equipment.
- Fluent English language skills; additional language skills are a plus.
- Willingness to travel worldwide, including long-term assignments on construction sites in Germany and abroad, as well as optional offshore platform assignments.
- A team player with strong communication skills, a proactive attitude, and the ability to handle conflicts positively while making decisions effectively.
About the Team
Project Entity is responsible for the high-quality implementation of comprehensive Siemens Energy projects around the world. The scope of its engineering activities includes, among others, turnkey projects (EPC, Engineering, Procurement and Construction), implementations based on HVAC and HVDC (High Voltage Alternate/Direct Current) technologies, and projects based on gas turbines, steam turbines, hydrogen solutions or systems combining the above into hybrid systems.
In addition, Project Entity supplies solutions in the area of transmission grid stabilization systems, energy storage, switchgear and high-voltage transformers, as well as systems for digitizing the above areas.
