A Category Manager is the owner of a respective commodity, focused on the relevant Business Area, Local Business, Facilities and Stakeholder. In this strategic position, you will develop and implement a resilient commodity strategy & contingent workforce program fully aligned with the Siemens Energy Ecosystem strategy, broader business strategy, operational objectives and the Global Category Manager.
In addition, you will manage all procurement related activities for the Contingent Workforce Program (CWP), supporting a rapidly growing and highly dynamic market. Acting as an entrepreneur for the CWP, you will work in close collaboration with HR, our MSP (Managed Service Provider), Business Stakeholders, and cross functional partners to ensure competitiveness, availability of workforce resources, efficient processes, and strong supplier performance.

How you’ll make a difference
Strategic Ownership & Leadership
- Manage the assigned commodity or commodities within your area of responsibility.
- Steer all procurement activities for the Contingent Workforce Program (CWP) in the in a fast growing market environment.
- Act as an entrepreneur for the CWP — shaping strategic direction, ensuring operational excellence, and partnering closely with HR and Business Stakeholders.
- Define and execute a sourcing strategy in alignment with the business, Ecosystem strategy, and Global Commodity Managers (GCMs).
- Lead the Commodity Circle with cross functional support to drive transparency, alignment, and targeted decision making.
Transparency, Insights & Cost Management
- Ensure full transparency of cost structures, supplier performance, and spend through Commodity Circle routines.
- Develop, drive, and implement business specific initiatives aligned with commodity strategy and Siemens Energy’s Ecosystem priorities.
- Increase Managed Spend by ensuring award decisions adhere to the defined commodity strategy.
Supplier & Market Management
- Maintain a competitive, resilient supply base aligned with Ecosystem strategy and Commodity Circle requirements.
- Manage strategic supplier relationships in collaboration with GCMs, ensuring continuous improvement, innovation, and strong delivery performance.
- Identify procurement risks and opportunities and implement respective mitigation or optimization measures.
- Feed market insights, supplier intelligence, and competitive knowledge into the broader stakeholder network.
Strategic Procurement Execution
- Conduct and support all strategic procurement activities including negotiation planning, strategy refinement, awarding decisions, sourcing board approvals, and quarterly supplier performance reviews.
- Prepare, negotiate, award, and maintain frame agreements and price lists for strategic suppliers, aligning deliverables with business and market requirements.
- Drive early supplier involvement and cost out initiatives through Commodity Circle collaboration.
Performance Management & Continuous Improvement
- Generate, document, and implement savings initiatives; track, monitor, and report key KPIs.
- Lead supplier lifecycle management processes — qualification, selection, evaluation, development, and classification — ensuring readiness for future business needs.
What you bring
- Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field; master's degree preferred.
- Several years of experience in Procurement, Category/Commodity Management, Strategic Sourcing, or Contingent Workforce Management.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and experience working with HR and business leaders.
- Strong analytical skills, commercial acumen, and ability to manage complex supplier landscapes.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to drive initiatives independently and influence cross functional teams.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills; comfortable working in a fastpaced, growth environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in English and Swedish.
