A Snapshot of Your Day
Join us as a CNC Machinist B in the Small Components manufacturing area at Siemens Energy! In this dynamic role, you will set up and operate both manual and CNC horizontal milling machines, as well as manual and CNC lathes, performing intricate operations on a variety of parts and components. You will utilize an array of tools, including milling cutters, boring bars, and precision measuring instruments, to ensure high-quality results. Your expertise in shop mathematics and ability to interpret complex drawings and specifications will be key to your success. How You’ll Make an Impact

  • You will load and unload parts from machines using material handling devices, assisting the crane operator as needed.
  • Set up machines by installing tooling and adjusting settings according to job documentation and drawing specifications.
  • Secure workpieces with various tools and equipment to ensure accurate alignment and leveling.
  • Operate machines using manual, semi-automatic, or automatic controls to perform a range of machining operations, including milling, drilling, and grinding.
  • Conduct in-process integrity checks to maintain drawing tolerances, performing necessary tool changes and machine re-orientations.
  • Remove chips from workpieces and perform inspections, deburring, and cleaning as required.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance and minor machine repairs to ensure optimal performance.
  • Complete essential documentation, including log sheets and downtime records, to maintain accurate records.

What You Bring

  • You have 5-7 years of practical trades training, with a strong familiarity with blueprints, CNC machinery, programming, and manual machining.
  • Your effective written and verbal communication skills enable you to collaborate seamlessly with team members.
  • You possess a proven understanding of shop mathematics and experience with precision measuring instruments.
  • You are legally authorized for employment in the United States without the need for employer-sponsored work authorization.
  • You are committed to maintaining Siemens Energy equipment certifications and have a passion for continuous learning and growth.
