A Snapshot of Your Day

We are looking for a highly skilled Research and Development Engineer to join our team. This role focuses on system level modeling, simulation, and software development to support the design, analysis and optimization of gas turbine performance and operability. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between component-level engineering and full-engine system behavior through advanced tools and programming.

How You’ll Make an Impact
  • Development and maintenance of system-level models for gas turbines integrating thermodynamic, mechanical, and control subsystems
  • Creation and deployment of software tools for performance prediction, transient analysis, and operability assessment
  • Implementation of automation scripts and multidisciplinary optimization frameworks to support design trade studies
  • Application of AI/ML, digital twin technologies, and data analytics to enhance decision-making and predictive capabilities
  • Collaboration with component teams to ensure accurate system integration and requirements alignment
  • Support of requirements definition, architecture development, system validation, and training of engineering teams
What You Bring
  • Master´s degree or equivalent experience in mechanical engineering or aerospace engineering and professional background of 3+ years (or PhD) in the gas or aero turbine industry with expertise in component integration and large turbine fundamentals
  • Experience with system modeling tools (e.g., NPSS, proprietary modeling environments) and thermodynamic cycle analysis including steady-state, transient simulations, and engine operability
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Fortran, Bash, C, and C++ in Linux environments, including version control with GitLab
  • Knowledge of control systems, sensor integration, data acquisition, and high-performance or cloud-based computing environments (e.g., Azure, AWS)
  • Familiarity with digital twin frameworks and AI/ML applications in system-level engineering
About the Team
