In the Field Service Representative (FSR) role, the individual is responsible for installing and servicing Siemens Energy, Dresser, and non-OEM compressors and auxiliary equipment globally. Acting as a vital intermediary, the FSR liaises between customers and the company, collaborating with management, sales, and technical support to ensure service integrity, while focusing on turbo compressors and being accountable for all mechanical aspects during equipment installation and overhaul during service outages.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical installation and overhaul of turbo compressor packages and related equipment, adhering to the highest quality standards as per OEM specifications.
- Supervise and provide directions to a team for the complete overhaul and installation of turbo compressors according to service requirements.
- Verify OEM installation instructions and readings, including baseplate levelness and alignment, to ensure accurate setup.
- Interpret P&ID and dimensional drawings to facilitate accurate installation and fixing.
- Conduct troubleshooting Root Cause Analysis when vital and communicate progress, schedules, and spare part recommendations to clients while preparing detailed technical reports.
- Write comprehensive technical reports following service outages, documenting findings, actions taken, and recommendations for future improvements.
- Maintain safety and foster a Zero-harm culture by following and enforcing all company and customer EHS policies.
- Perform duties on the day or night shift under difficult conditions, such as heat, cold, and noise, and be able to work weekends and holidays.
What You Bring
- Educational Background: High School/GED diploma or Engineering degree with equivalent years of experience, along with a minimum of 5-7 years of directly related experience in the overhaul of turbo compressor packages and related equipment.
- Technical Expertise:
o Extensive mechanical experience with tasks, such as dry gas seals replacement, bearing inspection and replacement, rotor and bundle replacement, alignment, foundation inspection for baseplate levelness and alignment, L/O flushing among other related compressor installation and maintenance activities.
- Documented experience with reciprocating compressors is an absolute plus, enhancing your ability to contribute effectively to our projects.
- Sophisticated proficiency in precision measurement techniques and fluent use of standard office software and portal-based systems for reporting time, expenses, and service reports.
- Experienced in leading teams during installations and maintenance, providing clear directions and ensuring service requirements are met.
- Excellent professional communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to engage in difficult discussions with customers to ensure customer satisfaction and protect company interests.
- Safety and Compliance: Maintain a Zero-harm culture by adhering to all company and customer EHS policies, ensuring safe and compliant operations.
- Physical Requirements: Capable of climbing ladders, working around machinery, and evacuating work areas in emergencies. Ability to stand for extended periods and walk long distances is required. The candidate must be eligible for offshore work and pass the necessary offshore medical examinations.
