A Snapshot of Your Day

Team Leadership: You will lead a team of domain experts, managing accounting issues, analyzing errors, initiating vital corrections, and leading process improvement activities with support from the Cash & Bank Function Lead. You will supervise daily Cash & Bank transactions and month-end closing activities, ensuring timely and accurate recording in accordance with IFRS, local GAAP, and other relevant regulations.

Collaboration & Teamwork: You are expected to collaborate and build strong partnerships with internal and external customers, including regional accounting hubs, local business teams, and other partners within Siemens Energy’s communities. Actively listen to customer requests, manage sophisticated operational issues, and take ownership of decisions with the Cash & Bank Function Lead. Share best practices with all relevant collaborators.

Escalations & Process Improvement: With your experience, lead the Cash & Bank team in resolving accounting issues and serve as a competent contact person. Lead the team in operational improvement, finance transformation projects, or other beneficial solutions in your area of expertise.

How You’ll Make an Impact

Validating that bank statement imports/uploads automatic and manual are performed in a timely manner and free from error in SAP

  • Perform bank accounts reconciliations in a timely manner and that aged items are followed-up on and clarified by following-up with any reasonable party
  • Reconcile account balances between SAP and bank interface
  • Perform special booking transactions (e.g. overpayments, employees, tax authorities, wage tax etc.)
  • Create journals to internal / external Bank Account
  • Monitoring of outgoing payments (MOP Process)
  • Bank related interim account clearing
  • Recording of all cash transactions and follow-up on items to be clarified
  • Perform Interim Cash related General Ledger Account Reconciliations
  • Investigate and resolve payment rejection
  • Perform month end activities related to Cash and Bank
  • Ensuring stability in monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing activities, actively providing support to Cash & Bank team members as a relevant specialist and leader.
  • You assist with ad-hoc duties required by management to meet the needs of the business, and coordinate solutions with your team if required.
  • Working independently and proactively supporting the Cash & Bank team members, also providing feedback for more complex issues to the Function Lead.
  • You will be responsible for internal controls in Cash & Bank accounting, also participating in internal and external audits by providing timely and qualitative information and resolve queries from the auditors (where applicable for the assigned countries/legal entities).
  • You own the implementation and continuous update of DTP (Desktop Procedure) documentation for existing and creation of DTPs new processes/variances.
  • You are actively involved in leading, proposing and coordinating people and processes in continuous improvement initiatives as part of finance transformation projects. You will support projects related to Cash & Bank, Mergers and Acquisitions and ERP migration projects, among others.
  • Contributing and engaging in standardizing and automating our workflows and Cash & Bank processes and our cross-functional processes throughout the company.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in the field of Cash & Bank or Accounting & Finance Operations
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Team Leadership
  • Extensive knowledge of accounting and IFRS is mandatory
  • Very good MS-Office skills (especially in MS-Excel)
  • Very good understanding of business processes in SAP
  • Experience in transitions and transformation projects
  • Willingness to travel for knowledge transfer, training/workshops, if needed
