As a Software Engineer at Siemens Energy, you will immerse yourself in a vibrant and collaborative environment, contributing to the improvement and maintenance of the GPM Product. Your day will involve working closely with the Development Manager and your team to deliver outstanding software solutions that align with our strategic goals. You will handle critical analysis activities and engage in continuous improvement initiatives, all while maintaining a right-first-time attitude and prioritising safety.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Support the GPM Development team ensuring maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
• Work closely with the Development Manager and Lead Software Engineer to deliver software that meets our customers’ current and strategic needs.
• Participate in customer requirements analysis, applying your expertise in technologies and the GPM product.
• Develop a high-performance culture centre on business excellence and continuous improvement.
• Manage risks and uphold the Siemens Energy brand by operating to the highest business standards.
• Ensure compliance with Siemens Energy values and behaviors, promoting a ‘Zero Harm’ culture.

What You Bring

• Demonstrable experience with the software development lifecycle, agile processes, and quality assurance.
• Proven track record in successful project or service execution as part of a multi-disciplined team.
• Experience with UK & Ireland energy customers, including software development and service delivery.
• Knowledge of energy dispatch, settlement, and compliance processes, including NETA, EDT and EDL interfaces, Elexon Insights Solution API, REMIT, and Elexon Settlement process.
• Familiarity with industry technologies such as OPC DA/UA, PI SDK/AF, and Serial Meter interfaces.
• Proficiency with development software and technologies like DevOps (on-premise), Microsoft Message Queuing, .Net Framework, Visual C#, and virtual/cloud computing platforms.

About the Team

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonisation. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonisation opportunities through service offerings, modernisation, and digitalization of the fleet.
