A Snapshot of Your Day

The Senior Indirect Tax Accountant will be responsible for working with a third-party consultant to provide information surrounding the renditions for personal property taxes. In addition to reviewing the rates each jurisdiction charges on the assessments and comparing them with invoicing prior to forwarding this information to the third-party consultant. This position will also be responsible for business and sales tax license filings to ensure compliance by jurisdiction. Additionally, the tax calendar will be led by this position to ensure all filing requirements are met. Also, annual statement files which require financial information will be completed by this position. Lastly, unclaimed property filings will also be led by this position with the assistance of an external vendor.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Work closely with the businesses to obtain information for the property tax renditions and reconcile property tax accounts for Siemens Energy and Siemens Wind.
  • View strategic reviews proposed by the third-party consultant.
  • Submit payment request for annual statement filings and property taxes and review property tax notices.
  • File annual statement documents where financial information is required.
  • Monitoring tax law changes and analyzing the impact on our filing profile.
  • Manage the unclaimed property process.

What You Bring

  • BS Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
  • 5+ years of state and local indirect tax compliance experience. Candidates with more experience can be considered for a higher level or vice-versa. 
  • Comprehensive knowledge and ability to research, interpret and apply state transaction tax laws using tax research software.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize, organize, and perform multiple tasks with varying deadlines simultaneously.
  • Ability to interact independently with peers and management, possess excellent accounting, communication and analytical skills and work under internal and external deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint and experience with ERP systems (i.e. SAP) preferred.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
