A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Sales Operations Specialist at Siemens Energy, your day starts with reviewing the latest energy market trends and staying up-to-date with our competitors' moves. You share these developments with our sales managers in the North America region and get their insights as well.

Depending on the planning activities' schedule, your insights will contribute to delivering a high-quality monthly sales forecast and support R&D decisions, factory load planning, and resource allocation. You will ensure that all required updates are implemented into our CRM system (SFDC) to ensure that all activities use one source of truth.

After lunch, you attend a meeting to discuss the latest marketing activities and strategies for our gas turbine portfolio. In this context, you act as a strategic advisor and be part of or lead special strategic assignments to protect or grow specific elements of our gas turbine portfolio.

You also do win/loss analyses of our bids jointly with the respective sales teams on a regular basis. In this role, you create a feedback loop to other parts of the organization. As part of a global intelligence community, you liaise with colleagues across the globe to grow your internal network and transfer findings from other regions into the NA region.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • The work of you and the team has a significant impact on regional and global scale:
  • Creating clarity about energy markets and our competition.
  • Coach members of the Sales Team in North America on price analysis, competitors analysis, win and loss feedback, and market trends.
  • Developing & driving our regional strategy to position our portfolio for the mid and long-term.
  • Marketing activities (customer events, market analysis)
  • Economic evaluation of power plant offerings to position our portfolio.
  • Delivering a high-quality sales forecast planning of the gas turbine portfolio to support R&D decisions, factory load planning, resource allocation.
  • Creating a feedback loop to portfolio managers, sales colleagues, and other parts of the organization about or won and lost offers following the business tempo
  • You will lead a team or be a part of special critical initiatives impacting the global organization.
  • Lead and guide new team members on internal and external processes that are required to be in compliance with SE business excellence procedures.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or Business Administration.
  • Preferred: master’s degree and/or MBA
  • 7+ years of work experience with or in the power generation, oil & gas, or related industries; Strategy and consulting background preferred.
  • 7+ years of power transaction or contracting experience in North America or international energy markets.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision within given boundaries and handle respective stakeholders.
  • Motivation to learn using new software tools and follow corporate processes.
  • Ability to work with numbers, data visualization tools and interpret the same
  • A growth and learner’s mentality. You are not worried or afraid of dealing with a task you will do for the first time. However, you do not shy away from asking for help if you need help.
  • Asking the right questions to get the answers you need.
  • The desire to deliver quality results being shared across the organization.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills to convey complex subjects in a concise manner.
  • Readiness to work in a multinational corporation and intercultural environment.

About the Team

Siemens Energy is a global organization. In your role you will work in a team of sales operation managers located in the region as well as located across the world. Your will interact daily with our team of technical and commercial sales managers in the region North America. The regional and global sales management of the gas turbine portfolio regularly engages the sales operations team both on operational and strategic topics.
