Join us as a Settings Engineer, where your expertise will shape the future of energy systems! You will assess the performance capabilities of various plant components, examining all operational modes and potential failure scenarios. Your role will involve proposing effective protection settings while ensuring a thorough understanding of both normal and abnormal power system states. Collaborate with a dynamic team to model and analyze power systems, making a significant impact on project success and safety.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Build strong relationships with the CP Grid Access AC Windfarm, HVDC, and Substation Team to ensure seamless integration of UK engineers within the global CP team.
- Analyze delivery issues and transfer lessons learned to new projects, preventing the recurrence of challenges.
- Proactively intervene and address any unsafe behaviors or actions to uphold safety and integrity.
- Focus on the broader needs of Siemens Energy and CP globally, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
What You Bring
- A degree in Electrical Engineering with design experience in the Electricity Transmission and Distribution industry.
- A detailed understanding of power systems in both normal and abnormal states, with the ability to model and analyze them effectively.
- Knowledge of protection device principles and the ability to examine failure modes, proposing effective protection settings.
- Experience in interpreting fault records and recommending policy changes as necessary.
- Proficiency in producing protection and control settings for substations ranging from 13.9kV to 400kV, along with coordination studies and settings reports.
