A Snapshot of Your Day

As a checker, your day will involve reviewing daily schedule priorities to support the manufacturing of our Datum/RF compressor. You will interact with our design teams to ensure that Client and Siemens Energy specifications and standards are applied. Additionally, you will collaborate with a global team comprising members from India, Germany, and the USA.

How You’ll Make an Impact

The specific responsibilities assigned to the position (but not limited to) are:

  • Verify and review engineering drawings and 3-D models using NX & Teamcenter to ensure compliance with Siemens Energy standards.
  • Reduce design and drafting errors to minimize rework or scrap in manufacturing.
  • Provide timely feedback to detailers and layout drafters to improve drawing quality.
  • Check and approve engineering drawings for technical completeness, clarity, conformance with standards, dimensional accuracy, and correct material specifications.
  • Verify Bill of Materials (BOM) and Globus workflows for required properties.
  • Participate in design review and focus group meetings, and keep work status updated in the database.

What You Bring

  • Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5-7 years of experience for BE/10-12 years for Diploma in NX (Modeling, Drafting) is a must.
  • 2-3 years of experience in reviewing models and drawings.
  • Basic knowledge of Turbo machinery and ASME Y14.5.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with sound documentation capabilities using MS applications like Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes (casting, forging, welding), parametric modeling, expression-based modeling, part families, and Wave-Link Geometry, with hands-on experience in Globus and preferred SAP knowledge. Willingness to travel domestically and internationally on short notice (0-10% travel).

This job may be based in Olean, New York. Siemens Energy offers a variety of health and wellness benefits including paid time off and holiday pay. Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, skills, certifications, and other business needs. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual’s qualifications.
