A Snapshot of Your Day

We are looking for an agile and self-driving engineering student in Junior or Senior year of Mechanical Engineering bachelor’s degree. The day to day will be collaborating with very experienced engineer at Siemens Energy to help them thru diverse tasks, such as Gas Turbine technical issue data collection and post-processing, release of technical documents, field service testing and post-processing, dashboard maintenance and improvements, validation of hardware field follow updates. This is a unique experience to also collaborate with engineers in a global environment including Germany and Mexico.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • You support research and development projects on gas turbine parts related topics and risks, including site visits on-demand data.
  • You collaborate on blades and vanes Engine Configuration Management.
  • You support R&D programs via collaborating with experts to improve Service solutions and customer communication.
  • You are key player in the teams working on the fleet validation of new hardware and new information coming up to service on designs.
  • You are involved in new developments and optimizations in the field of Gas Turbines.
  • You collaborate across disciplines to develop innovative solutions, generating ideas and initiating improvements projects.
  • You will be act as a mentee having an expert to coach you thru your internship.

What You Bring

  • Currently enrolled to receive your Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace or Industrial
  • You are willing to support our Projects even outside of regular office hours – since we work with Germany, some flexibility is necessary in the morning time.
  • You have willingness and excellent skills to communicate and collaborate across organizations. Building a network is key in the success of this position.
  • You are in continuous exchange with other experts and specialists in your community.
  • You are committed to embodying Siemens Energy’s values and behaviors in all professional activities, reflecting the company’s culture in daily work.
  • Applicants must have a minimum of a 3.2 GPA and have relevant prior work experience.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.

About the Team

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
