A Snapshot of Your Day

Tool Preset Technician utilizes their machine tooling expertise to preset a wide variety of tools and deliver tooling to the machines. You will work closely with the Machining Manufacturing Engineers to understand products and machining process steps to optimize tool package delivery in support of production operations.

How You’ll Make an Impact

Preset tooling for horizontal mills, horizontal drills, and lathes and deliver tooling packages / carts to the machines
Manage and organize tooling inventory
Inspect, repair, modify, and/or replace tools and fixtures
Operate manual lathes, manuals mills, and surface grinders
Teach and/or mentor employees in the Siemens Energy Apprenticeship Program.
Engage in continuous improvement by applying 5S methodology as a component of a Lean production system

What You Bring
 
Must have high school diploma or equivalent. Associate degree or trade school certificate is preferred.
8+ years of machining experience with a strong knowledge of machining processes & tools along with experience with managing machine tools
Ability to use various types of precision measuring instruments.
Ability to obtain fork truck and crane license. Previous experience is preferred.
Successful applicants must be able to pass standard hearing, vision, and pulmonary function tests.
Must also be able to read, write, understand, and follow verbal and/or written instructions in English. Must also be able to live and work legally in the United States.
