We are seeking a highly skilled Multi-Disciplinary Optimization (MDO) Solutions Engineer to join our team, specializing in large gas turbine systems. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of gas turbine components, design, and engineering methods. You will be responsible for developing and implementing optimization solutions that enhance the performance, efficiency, and reliability of our gas turbine products while reducing time to market. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate advanced engineering techniques and innovative solutions into our design processes.
The successful candidate must demonstrate proficiency in programming for MDO and parametric CAD. You will apply your expertise to build and refine computational models, perform simulations, and analyze data to drive design improvements. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment are essential. The candidate will serve as the point of contact (PoC) for MDO and HEEDS in the USA, providing training and support to users.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- In-depth knowledge of gas turbine components, design, and engineering methods.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++ or similar, specifically for MDO applications.
- Solid understanding of Gitlab and Linux
- Experience with parametric CAD software (e.g., NX, CATIA, SolidWorks).
- Experience with high-performance computing (HPC) environments.
- Knowledge of machine learning techniques as applied to engineering optimization is a plus.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- PhD in a relevant discipline is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in gas turbine design and optimization.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing optimization solutions in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to perform complex simulations and data analysis.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in gas turbine engineering.

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
