This role is a replacement to ensure business continuity within the Electrical Engineering team for Controls & Digitalization in Latin America, supporting Siemens Energy's Gas Services division.The Electrical Engineering team is responsible for the specification, selection, design review, cost calculation and quality control of Excitation Systems for synchronous machines (generators and motors) across hydro and industrial plants in Latin America region.The position is critical for maintaining operational stability and service delivery for electrical solutions. To meet these objectives, the role is structured around three core areas of Excitation System Solutions: Engineering & Design, focusing on the development and implementation of the solutions; Operational Support & Troubleshooting, dedicated to maintaining and resolving issues in existing systems; and Project Execution & Documentation, ensuring professional standards and customer-focused project deliverables are met. Given the focus on these areas, the ideal candidate will be an experienced professional with a degree in Electrical Engineering. They must possess practical experience in designing and troubleshooting Electrical Systems and be capable of working independently with general supervision to deliver the best solutions for customer needs. The successful applicant for this position will work in an inter-disciplinary team setting and will be required to design, specify, and implement the assigned electrical equipment in a self-reliant work manner. Tasks include collaboration with customers, vendors, various engineering disciplines, bid management and supply chain management to develop and implement technical solutions ensuring the highest customer satisfaction and successful project implementation by Siemens Energy.

What You Need To Make a Difference

• Prepare customized technical proposals by translating customer and project requirements into clear technical deliverables.
• Design and develop electrical system solutions in accordance with project specifications and engineer Siemens Energy excitation systems to meet customer needs.
• Create, review, and modify system design documentation, including electrical schematics, and execute Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).
• Develop and deliver technical training materials and sessions for both internal and external stakeholders.
• Provide technical support, troubleshoot installed excitation systems, and conduct root cause analyses for system failures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage engineering tasks, ensuring project timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Typically requires 2-5 years of experience in the design and implementation of electrical solutions.
