A Snapshot of Your Day


As an  Development Engineer - Additive Manufacturing in our Research & Development organization, you will be responsible within a global project team for developing components & sub-systems that can be produced using various additive manufacturing (AM) methods. The scope of duties includes identifying components suitable for these manufacturing methods, and keeping up to date with additive manufacturing technology as it is a continuously evolving one.

The position offers collaborate with many functions in our organization, and a variety of exciting challenges. Our product solutions are tailored to customer needs and you will be working on new technologies and applications as part of the energy transition and decarbonization.


How You’ll Make an Impact


  • Understand Compressor component and product requirements
  • Engage and lead discussions with internal and external suppliers on how to manufacture hardware using Additive Manufacturing methods
  • Review component history, manufacturing non-conformances, issues to consider in design improvements
  • Prepare delivery specifications in accordance with internal manufacturing standards and external standards such as API 20S
  • Devise validation plans, handle risks, support component manufacturing and qualification
  • Lead technical discussions with other R&D functions
  • Actively participate in team meetings, scrums and talk to internal customers such as R&D, Engineering, Services and Repair Centers
  • Prepare and present at design reviews
  • Build and modify Computer Aided Design (CAD) models & drawings optimized for Additive Manufacturing
  • Prepare CAD models for downstream tasks such as Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) and Solid Mechanics


What You Bring


  • Successfully completed studies in the field of mechanical engineering or comparable
  • Several years of professional experience and expertise in the field of additive manufacturing, as well as other methods and processes
  • Knowledge of turbomachinery 
  • Knowledge and understanding of engineering tools (Teamcenter, NX CAD, SAP, etc.)
  • Knowledge of technical quality assurance as well as cost and risk awareness
  • Strong partnership and communication skills as well as intercultural experience
  • A systematic and structured way of working as well as initiative and an ownership mentality
  • Business fluent in English (required) and German (will be an advantage)
  • Willingness to travel on business (a few times a year)
  • Be flexible and agile and willing to handle tasks in different projects
  • Communicate status with partners
  • Be creative, proactive and participate in ideation
