Snapshot of the Day

As a Commissioning Engineer, you’ll be at the forefront of bringing HighVoltage Direct Current (HVDC) systems and substations to life. You’ll lead onsite commissioning of essential electrical infrastructure—including MV/LV auxiliary systems, HV switchgear, transformers, and advanced control and protection systems.

Your work ensures that every component is tested, integrated, and performing safely before handover. Close collaboration with engineering teams, handson testing, and detailed documentation will be central to your day.

This role suits someone with strong electrical engineering knowledge, practical experience in MV/HV substations, and a willingness to travel globally for project assignments.

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Lead commissioning of MV/LV auxiliary systems, HV switchgear, transformers, UPS, and generator systems.
  • Perform testing and commissioning of control, protection, and interlocking systems.
  • Prepare and execute detailed test plans, analyse results, and confirm system performance.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to review test documentation, hardware drawings, and schematics.
  • Produce comprehensive commissioning reports and maintain accurate technical records.
  • Support quality assurance, risk management, and continuous improvement activities across projects.

What You Bring to the Role

  • Strong educational background in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • Experience with MV/HV substation systems and HVDC technologies.
  • Proficiency with test equipment (e.g., Omicron) and engineering tools (e.g., DIGSI, SIPROTEC).
  • Technical skills in protection systems, system integration, and troubleshooting.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and accurate documentation practices.
  • site work.
