A Snapshot of Your Day

Step into a dynamic role where you lead the technical direction for Substation Automation projects, handling control system specifications and developing concept diagrams. Your day is filled with hands-on engineering as you perform Factory Acceptance Tests and create precise project documentation, including functional design specifications, test protocols, and signal lists. By supervising sub-suppliers and taking ownership of quality, timing, and costs, you drive excellence and reliability in every aspect of your work. Your expertise in this role helps power the future of reliable, sustainable energy.


How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Handle control system specifications and develop concept diagrams for Substation Automation projects, including RTUs, HMIs, and IEDs.
  • Design network structures, select components, and prepare technical and commercial customer offers for automation systems.
  • Perform Factory Acceptance Tests for control systems and create project-specific technical documentation (functional design specifications, test protocols, signal lists, etc.).
  • Research and implement new technical solutions and Cyber Security measures within projects.
  • Supervise and assure the quality of sub-suppliers during project execution.
  • Take responsibility for the quality, timing, and costs of your own results.


What You Bring

  • A complete degree in electrical engineering, automation, or a similar field.
  • More than 10 years of experience in engineering HMI/SCADA systems for control systems and energy transmission & distribution.
  • Deep knowledge of HMI software and Substation Automation tools (e.g., WinCC, Zenon, ZEE600, SICAM PAS, SICAM A8000); familiarity with different vendor solutions is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of process data handling, subsystem integration, and SCADA Communication Gateway configuration for Remote Control Centers.
  • Proficiency in communication protocols such as IEC101, IEC104, and IEC61850.
  • Excellent understanding of the energy business and strong communication skills in English; German is an advantage.
