A Snapshot of Your Day
The Senior Sales Specialist - Turbomachinery acts as the project or market champion within the compression business in oil & gas/Industrial applications, leading all aspects of the business and project development from the initial stages through order entry.
The incumbent manages the client interface, including presenting the value proposition and negotiating contractual terms. This role will support client activity during the business development phase, identifying the evaluators, influencing people and decision-makers that are key to the project.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Direct experience in the sales, application, or operation of engineered gas turbines, steam turbines, turbo compressors, and/or reciprocating compressors is preferred (but not mandatory), while monitoring market activity and trends—including competition—and providing feedback to the proposal team as required.
- Establishes a work plan and staffing for each project phase, arranging recruitment or assignment of proposal support (Project Development, Product Engineering, and Product Services account management) and providing leadership and focus for growth initiatives within the Latin America Region.
- Engages with the Commercial Sales Manager for Legal/Contract Administration, Finance/Credit, Business Solutions, Controls Systems, Product Services business unit managers, and company management as necessary, establishing and maintaining preferred provider relationships with key client decision‑makers and influencers.
- Manages preparation of technical and commercial proposals, including price recommendations based on market information, development of the value proposition, and completion of risk assessments and project cash‑flow analyses in accordance with guidelines.
- Prepares business activity and forecast reports, routinely presents to customers in small and large forums an overview of Siemens Energy, its go‑to‑market approach, and capabilities, and delivers technical and commercial presentations to management and clients.
- Acts in a businesslike manner regarding expenses, meets Siemens Energy sales, bookings, and earnings objectives, represents the client fairly, develops Regional Marketing & Sales Plans, and proactively develops opportunities.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field, with a minimum of eight (8) years of related work experience.
- Proven experience in new unit sales, including rotating equipment sales and/or capital project business development, preferably within the oil & gas industry, along with contract negotiation skills.
- Strong technical understanding of machine design, thermodynamic principles, and compressor and/or gas turbine performance and application theory.
- Must possess a strong, confident presence in front of clients and demonstrate excellent customer-facing skills; advanced English proficiency is required.
- Customer-driven, high achiever, and creative thinker with a proactive approach to business development.
- Willingness to travel.
