As a Senior Commercial Project Manager, you coordinate large offshore service and maintenance projects in Germany, the Nordics, and Poland. You work closely with the Operations Manager to meet financial targets, focusing on gross profit and cash flow. Your day involves verifying cost calculations, maintaining project data, and preparing for status meetings. You participate in month-end closing activities to ensure compliance with financial reporting standards and initiate invoicing based on project progress. Additionally, you handle financial guarantees and securities while collaborating with the operations team to identify cost-saving opportunities and implement lessons learned for continuous improvement.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Responsible for handling large offshore service and maintenance projects in Germany, the Nordics, and Poland alongside the Operations Manager
- Act as a business partner to operations management, jointly accountable for achieving targeted financial results, including project gross profit, cash flow, and asset management
- Ensure accurate cost and pricing calculations (OEC/MIKA) and maintain commercial project data (FC, Closing, Budget) for all relevant KPIs, preparing documentation for regular project status meetings
- Play an active role in month-end closing activities, maintaining accurate project records in compliance with Siemens Financial Reporting Guidelines, IFRS, and local GAAP, including accurate accounting in systems like SAP
- Initiate invoicing based on project progress and contractual terms, while handling financial guarantees, bonds, and project securities in line with contractual requirements and SGRE guidelines
- Collaborate with the Operations Manager to identify and minimize non-conformance costs, establish reporting, and implement lessons learned and cost-saving measures, while continuously evaluating risks and opportunities
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent experience that demonstrates relevant knowledge and skills
- Several years of experience in various finance functions, showcasing a strong background in finance processes and standard methodologies
- Familiarity with PoC Revenue Recognition and PoC Accounting, enabling effective financial reporting and compliance
- Outstanding attention to detail, coupled with the ability to maintain a well-rounded perspective on financial data and processes
- Strong problem-solving skills and a data-driven mindset, with a proactive approach to leading change and improving existing work practices
- Proficiency in both German and English, both written and verbal, is a requirement for effective communication in diverse environments
