We are growing our laser scanning and digital inspection program here at Siemens Energy and we are looking for a self-motivated, dynamic, and innovative colleague, to continue to build our capability and provide best-in-class support to our service centers and end customers.
Your profile
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- At least 5 years of experience in Design/Reverse Engineering, Digital Metrology, or Design to Build operations.
- Proficient with industry standard CAD Modeling packages like Solidworks, Autocad, etc. NX experience is a plus
- Knowledge of GD&T and physical inspection processe
- Metrology Experience/Manipulation & Inspection of point cloud data using Polyworks, PCDimas, Spatial Analyzer, etc.
- Familiarity with reverse engineering or creating CAD models from point cloud data (DesignX is a plus)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers, partners, and colleagues
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions
- Rotating Equipment or Repair Center Experience (Gas Turbine, Turbocompressor, etc) is a plus
- Experience with 3D scanners, probing systems, and related software is a pluS
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficient with English
Your responsibilities
- Provide operational support to global service centers for laser scanning measurement and digital assembly/inspection.
- Support the Repair Engineering team with advanced scan analytics and custom inspection scopes during critical outages and turnarounds
- Align individual component scans into full digital assembly for visualization and analysis.
- Test and support development for new automated inspection scripts
- Prepare and present results to external and internal customers
- Develop individual component CAD models, full assemblies, and manufacturing drawings from laser scanning data as required to support operational needs.
- Design for Additive – support the development of the Additive manufacturing program, leading the scan to print process once the program has matured and technology has developed.
