A Snapshot of Your Day (position overview)

At the beginning of each day, you will participate in a daily briefing with plant management, operations, and maintenance to discuss the evolutions for the day.  You will then begin work on various items that could include plant optimization, service program coordination, troubleshooting with operations and maintenance teams. Each day presents itself with different items to manage and improve.  You will be able prioritize these items based on the needs of the plant.

How You’ll Make an Impact (responsibilities)

  • Provide performance related technical support, assistance, and evaluation when operating or maintenance problems occur. Assist the plant staff with technical issues and help facilitate resolution and improved operation as appropriate.
  • Coordinate with Siemens Energy Service Programs to plan large gas turbine maintenance items.
  • Prepare performance and availability/reliability calculations, in accordance with ongoing continuous monitoring efforts.
  • Maintain knowledge of potential enhancements to plant performance.
  • Assist with continuous improvement of the overall operations with recommendations for, developing and establishing improvements in general operating and maintenance standards and processes.
  • Review records and activities of operations periodically to confirm compliance with OEM guidelines.

What You Bring (requirements)

·         Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or equivalent experience required.

·         Minimum of five (5) years experience in power plant operations, maintenance, and in supervision preferred.

·         Understanding of, and proficiency in, gas turbines, steam turbines, electrical systems, instrumentation and control systems, mechanical systems, maintenance (planned and corrective), economics (estimating and budgeting), thermal dynamics, P&ID’s, and electrical schematics.

·         Good communication skills, verbal and written are required.

·         Must be able to work overtime, beyond regular work schedule hours, and to perform shift work (emergency situation), including holidays, nights and weekends

·         Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.

Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
