Gage Attendant – Large Generator Rotors

A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Gage Attendant, you will support the Large Generator Rotor manufacturing department by overseeing a substantial inventory of precision measuring tools used in machining, winding, assembly, and balance areas. A successful gage attendant will be detail-oriented and organized ensuring that all precision measuring tools maintain their annual calibration and that damaged precision measuring tools are repaired or replaced in a timely manner.  You will collaborate closely with our third-party lab to track and manage the department’s inventory.   

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Manage and organize precision measuring tool inventory
  • Periodic auditing of storage cabinets
  • Inspect, repair, and/or replace precision measuring tools
  • May assist in hand-skill areas with tasks such as deburr, winding, and/or assembly
  • Engage in continuous improvement by applying 5S methodology

What You Bring

  • High school degree or equivalent with 1+ years of experience in manufacturing/industrial/assembly operations
  • Working knowledge precision measuring tools
  • Ability to use spreadsheets and gage software at an intermediate level
  • Must be able to obtain fork truck and crane license through Siemens Energy internal certification programs
  • Successful applicants must be able to obtain Silver Level or higher ACT® WorkKeys® National Career Readiness Certificate
  • Successful applicants must be able to pass hearing, vision, and pulmonary tests through Siemens Energy’s onsite medical team

About the Team

Our Large Generator Rotor Operations team is responsible for manufacturing large electric generator rotors weighing up to 275 tons.  We operate within the Large Generator team to supply new 150 – 1000 megawatt generators to power plants all over the world.  In addition to manufacturing new rotors, we also service generator rotors by providing inspections, rewinds, modernizations, and upgrades.

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
